From Marriage to Divorce in 72 Days – Kim Kardashian v. Kris Humphries

And they said it wouldn’t last, and they were right! Kim Kardashian filed for divorce in Los Angeles a mere 72 days after her $10 million wedding to former NBA player Kris Humphries. In a move that frankly shocked no one (except perhaps Mr. H), Ms. K hopped on a plane to Australia while her divorce attorney filed the documents on Halloween.

So what happens next in the Kardashian Clan’s made-for-TV soap opera? According to TMZ, there is a pre-nup in place so we don’t expect to see a lot of financial wrangling. Furthermore, it’s reported that the lavish wedding in August with the accompanying TV specials, magazine covers, and assorted appearances alone netted the couple 8-figure paydays. Some quick calculations by the media claim that Ms. K’s financial windfall from the wedding equaled approximately $250,000 for each of the 72 days she was married.

It seems that there are few legal details to wrap up after a mere 10 weeks of marriage. Kim did not take her new husband’s last name so there’s no issue of having to restore her maiden name. And, in California it’s possible to have a divorce granted within six months so Kim K could be ready to marry again next summer! It seems we will get to watch all of the divorce drama as the E! Network cameras are sure to capture it at the Jenner-Kardashian households.

Ms. Kardashian did not miss a trick when she announced her divorce on the last day of the month. Her brother, Rob Kardashian, is still a contender on Dancing with the Stars, and needs viewers’ votes this week to stay alive in the contest. And, on November 1, the Kardashian Khaos store will open in Las Vegas and Momma Kris Jenner’s first book hits the stores. This is big business for the Kardashian family. Who knows how many more million Kardashian Inc. will make off the whole affair. Perhaps we should call it a publicity stunt?

  3. Run, Kris, run and consider yourself lucky. You truly don’t want to be part of that tacky crew. Don’t take any PR crap from her. Speak out.

    • That seems to be the general consensus Karen. There’s speculation that the prenup agreement they signed will prevent either party of speaking out for a set amount of time. If it’s true the gag order will expire, we wonder if there’s a Kris Humphries tells all book in his future?
